The Economic Review is aimed at 6th form Economics students – it’s great because it covers economics from many different angles… from the economics of train tickets, to the economics of the black death…. ask your school if you have a subscription – or check out the school library… there may be a copy there.  There’s also the option of a free trial – so take a look!  Whether or not you have a subscription, you can access the free resources on the website – some won’t make sense without the accompanying magazine, but there’s usually a pdf version of the poster in the magazine outlining the UK’s privatisation timeline, or the history of the EU on a timeline… more useful info!

Quite business focused, but with a fair bit of economics thrown in, the Financial Times is a useful resource – there’s a lot of content there, so make sure you also take advantage of the FT for Schools offer which is available to schools both in the UK and overseas.  Check on the website to see if your school has signed up, if not, ask the Head of Department to do so – then all you need is a school email address and you can sign up.

They have put together a useful list of articles which relate to the various topics in the syllabus… it’s a little out of date (Jan 2017) but will be a useful starting point for hunting down examples for the application part of your syllabus… FT for Schools: Economics Class teaching ideas
