READ, READ and READ some more!
Economics students and Business Studies students can benefit tremendously by reading around the subject. This part of the website will introduce you to some books, films, newspapers & magazines, podcasts, videos and websites which will help broaden your Economic & Business knowledge and awareness.
Use this great Tutor 2 U article with its recommended activities to get a head start before your Year 12 economics studies.
At A-Level you will be given either no, or a very short extract, on which to base an essay question, and so it’s key that you can back up your answer with information about the topic. Furthermore, even if you are answering questions on a data response question, key information about the topic will be essential in order to help you gain those all important evaluative marks.
In any event, wider knowledge of these topics will help you immeasurably in the exams, some of the extracts might even be familiar! This extra reading will also help you if you’re thinking of doing an Extended Essay (EE) or Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) in this field and/or you have a university interview coming up – demonstrating your wider reading will go down really well.
